Serenity is real and it lives on the West Coast.

Emma and Jacques’s wedding celebration was held at Strandkombuis in Yzerfontein. Few things are as magnificent as the peaceful beauty of a coastal town, and it was made even sweeter by the love between Emma, Jacques, and all their people.

Within the first few minutes of the day, Jacques already had me in tears. His beloved sister couldn’t be at the wedding, so he placed a coin in his shoe so that with every step, he would think of her.

Emma’s six cousins stood by her side as bridesmaids. Throughout the morning, I caught glimpses of them getting teary-eyed, reminiscing about the times they had dreamed of this very day.

All throughout the day, I felt called to just be present and witness the little moments. Feet in the sand, bridesmaids holding hands, loved ones cheering on the couple shoot.

Finally we were blessed with a true Yzer sunset and just when I thought it couldn't get any better, someone spotted bioluminescence in the sand. Everyone rushed to the beach, jumping up and down, drawing in the sand. I will forever be in awe.

... and a shoutout to the birdies!

The girls' cottage; a place filled with wonder and anticipation.
